March 11 and 12, 2006 Our little mini-adventure from San Diego to the Anza Borrego Desert, in southern California. We had record-breaking snowfall (for one day) in the mountains east of San Diego. We encountered long lines of traffic as people were stopped before the grade to Julian, and then the road down into the desert was closed and we had to take an alternative route. We set up camp in the rain, retiring early to the coziness of the tent. Then we awoke to a splendid, very cold, dry morning, and the magnificent sight of snow-covered mountains all around us - my first time seeing that here! On the route home on Sunday, cars were pulled off the side of the road everywhere, with kids and adults alike, playing in the snow, throwing snowballs, and making snowmen. What an incredible treat!
Yippee! Wild Woman Walks is finally here - both exciting and scary for me... Exciting because I have so much great stuff to share with you, and it's a new beginning, part of creating my dream. Scary because now I'm putting myself out there for all to see, and there is no going back. Have you ever had something that had you feeling both at the same time? Seems like a regular thing these days for me, as I work on creating my dream. Finally, that burning desire within has overcome (well, mostly) those pesky fears.
OK, so what is this Wild Woman Walks about? It's all about freeing our wild creative spirit - yup, that one that's been hiding, or lurking in the background, while we go about our life. That one that's been calling to you, or maybe whispering, or maybe even yelling. Have you been listening?
Time in nature is what keeps me sane in this sometimes crazy world. It's a bit of peace, helping me to connect with myself. It's what fuels my muse much of the time. And writing and photography are how I express my creativity. So those are the tools I'll be sharing here, because they are what I know best. I'll be sharing my own journey as well (gulp!).
So I invite you to come along and join me in my explorations. Here's to our Wild Creative Spirit!
